Pip value calculator: what is one pip really worth?
Every tick on a currency chart has a price. Know it before you're in the trade, not after — pick a pair and a size and see what one pip means in dollars.
Pick a pair to see the value of one pip.
What's a pip? The usual smallest step a currency price takes: 0.0001 for most pairs, 0.01 for pairs with the Japanese yen. Gold moves in 0.1 here. The value of a pip depends on the pair and your trade size. Results are in US dollars for a US-dollar account.
A quick table
| Lot | Units | Pip value on EUR/USD |
|---|---|---|
| Standard (1.0) | 100,000 | $10 |
| Mini (0.1) | 10,000 | $1 |
| Micro (0.01) | 1,000 | $0.10 |
For pairs that end in USD, a pip on one standard lot is always $10. For other pairs it moves with the exchange rate — that's what the calculator handles. Next step: turn pips into a trade size with the lot size calculator.
