BNB trading explained: what moves Binance's coin
Most coins don't have a parent company. BNB nearly does: it started as the token of Binance, one of the biggest crypto exchanges, and its story still runs through it.
At a glance
| Item | BNB |
|---|---|

| Trading hours | 24 hours a day, 7 days a week |
What it is, briefly
BNB was created in 2017 to give Binance users a discount on trading fees. Today it also pays the fees on BNB Chain, a blockchain where many apps run.
BNB has a burn program: from time to time, a set amount of coins is permanently destroyed. The stated goal is to shrink total supply over time.
What moves it
- Binance itself. BNB's link to one company is its biggest difference. Legal news, rule changes or business news about Binance can move BNB more than the wider market.
- BNB Chain activity. More apps and trading on the chain means more fees paid in BNB.
- Burns. Scheduled burns get attention when they happen.
- Bitcoin. BNB still feels the wider crypto mood.
- Regulation. Exchange rules in the US, Europe and Asia matter to an exchange coin.
When it's busiest
Binance's user base is global, with a strong base in Asia. So BNB can be active during overnight ET hours, roughly 8:00 pm to 4:00 am ET, as well as during the Europe-US overlap, roughly 8:00 am to noon ET. Weekends are thinner.
Its personality
- Often calmer than smaller coins, but sharp on company news.
- One-company risk. If something goes wrong at Binance, BNB can feel it first and hardest.
- Range-heavy stretches between news events.
- Where you can trade it varies. Not every US venue lists it, and the offers differ by country. Check your platform.
Reading it with our method
Start on BNB's daily chart and bitcoin's. Mark the last places price turned around. Trade with BNB's own bigger direction.
Wait for a candle body to close past a level. News spikes often leave long tails.
Size from the stop. Example: risk $20, stop $100 away. $20 ÷ $100 = 0.2 BNB. Use the position size calculator. A math example, not a promise.

Common mistakes
- Forgetting the company link. With BNB, an exchange headline can matter more than any chart level.
- Treating "burn" as a guarantee. Fewer coins doesn't mean price must rise. Demand matters too.
- Holding big size on a platform you don't know. Check where and how you can trade BNB in your country.
- Ignoring the overnight session. Big moves can start in Asia hours.
